Our Process
From First Conversation to Finished Property
We follow a clear, three-step process that keeps every custom landscape design project on track. First, we sit down with you to understand your vision, your budget, and how you use your outdoor space. Second, our team develops professional renderings so you can see exactly what your property will look like before a single shovel hits the ground. Third, we execute the installation with precision, using high-quality materials and a 10-man crew led by owner Joe Troetti. No guesswork, no surprises.
What We Design and Build
Full-Scope Outdoor Design Services in Fairfield County
Our outdoor design services in Fairfield County cover far more than basic plantings. We handle residential landscape design, pool landscaping, patios, stone walls, outdoor kitchens, and complete property overhauls. Because we also manage excavation and masonry in-house, we can address grading, drainage improvements, and structural site work as part of the same project. You work with one team, one point of contact, and one plan from start to finish. That is the Troetti difference.

Common Questions
Landscape Design FAQs

  • How does the landscape design consultation process work at Troetti Landscaping?

It starts with a free initial consultation where we meet with you to talk through your vision, your budget, and how you want to use your outdoor space. There is no cost and no obligation for this first meeting. From there, we develop professional renderings so you can see a visual preview of the finished design before any work begins. Once you approve the plan, we move into installation. The goal is to make sure you feel confident and informed at every stage before committing to anything.

  • What kinds of projects does Troetti handle for residential landscape design?

We work primarily with residential homeowners across Fairfield County, handling everything from front yard refreshes and pool landscaping to full property overhauls and outdoor living spaces. Our scope includes patios, stone walls, outdoor kitchens, sod installation, shrub planting, and drainage corrections. Because we also offer excavation and masonry in-house, we can take on projects that require significant site preparation, such as grading uneven terrain or correcting drainage issues, as part of the overall design and build.

  • Do you provide visual renderings before starting a project?

Yes. For design projects, we produce professional visual renderings so you can see an accurate preview of what your property will look like after the work is complete. This step is built into our three-step process and is intended to give you confidence in the plan before installation begins. It also helps us align on materials, layout, and plantings so there are no surprises during the build. Our team works with a dedicated landscape designer to produce these technical plans.

  • Does Troetti Landscaping handle both the design and the physical installation?

Yes. We manage the full project lifecycle in-house, from the initial design and renderings through excavation, masonry, planting, and final cleanup. This means you are not coordinating between a designer and a separate contractor. Joe Troetti or a family foreman is on site throughout the project to oversee the work directly. We also partner with a construction business for projects that involve structural additions or foundation work, so we can handle more complex site needs without bringing in outside vendors.

  • Which towns in Fairfield County do you serve for landscape design?

We serve Danbury, Bethel, Redding, Ridgefield, New Fairfield, Bridgewater, New Milford, Sherman, Newtown, and Fairfield, including ZIP code 06824. Our headquarters is at 3 Sunset Drive in Danbury, CT 06811, and most of our work is concentrated within this regional footprint. If you are unsure whether your property falls within our service area, call us or request a free estimate and we can confirm availability for your location.

  • Does Troetti offer fertilization or weed control as part of a landscape design package?

No. Fertilization and weed control are not services we provide in-house, as these chemical applications fall outside our current operational scope. If your project requires a lawn health program that includes those treatments, we would recommend pairing our design and installation work with a licensed chemical applicator. We focus on the structural, aesthetic, and maintenance aspects of your landscape, including mowing, mulching, seasonal cleanups, sod installation, and re-seeding.

  • How much does a landscape design project with Troetti typically cost?

We do not publish fixed pricing because every project differs in scope, materials, and site conditions. What we do offer is a free estimate so you can get a clear picture of costs before making any decisions. Our pricing is designed to be competitive and reasonable for the Fairfield County market, and we work with you during the initial consultation to align the plan with your budget. There are no hidden fees, and the free estimate gives you a straightforward starting point for planning your project.

  • Is the owner directly involved in projects, or does an unsupervised crew handle the work?

Joe Troetti or a family foreman is on site for projects to provide direct oversight throughout the process. This owner-on-site model is a core part of how we operate. It means the person who talked through your design goals and signed off on the plan is the same person managing the crew and checking the work on the ground. For clients who have had frustrating experiences with contractors who disappear after the sale, this level of direct involvement is one of the most valued aspects of working with Troetti Landscaping.
